Embarkation Day can and should be one of the highlights of your cruise!

The first day of a cruise is often the most overlooked and under enjoyed part of an entire cruise.

Think about it. You may have spent a good chunk of your day traveling just to get to the departure port. Then you arrive in time to wait in line, after line, after line. Finally, once you do board, you feel like cattle being prodded one way or another, and all you really want to do is get to your room, take a shower, and relax for the evening. After all, you have the whole rest of the cruise to enjoy everything on board. Today I’m just going to take it easy and I’ll start my vacation tomorrow.

Celebrity Equinox gets an update

The Celebrity Equinox was my first cruise experience, and it quickly set the tone for all my future vacations. I’d been on vacation before, but this was a new way to travel. Spending nights in specialty restaurants, the Molecular Bar, and our veranda, I came to love being at sea. In my  cruise travels since, I constantly compare each experience to that first, and always remember it tenderly.

The Equinox is the 2nd of the Solstice class of ships belonging to Celebrity Cruises. These 122,000 ton ships revolutionized the premium brand of cruising, with features like a true coffee shop, gelateria, and creperia, in addition to unique bars like Crush, with an ice bar, and the Molecular Bar which serves drinks concocted via molecular mixology chef, Junior Merino.
